Mark Andes

Mark Andes is an American bassist and musician, recognized for his contributions to rock and roll and hard rock music. Born on July 19, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, Andes gained prominence as a founding member of the influential band Spirit, known for their fusion of rock, jazz, and psychedelic sounds. Spirit's notable works include the album "Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" (1970), which features the hit "Nature's Way." After his tenure with Spirit, Andes joined the band Jo Jo Gunne, which produced hits like "Run, Run, Run." He later became a member of the iconic rock band Heart in the late 1970s, contributing to their signature sound during a pivotal era. Andes played on several of Heart's classic albums, including "Little Queen" (1977) and "Dog & Butterfly" (1978).
